20 Below

My phone said it felt like -20 degrees when the alarm went off this morning. I scrapped my plan to wear my new shirt, which is a bit lightweight. I went to get Carl Fredrickson and he and I went off to elementary school. Here are some of the things I heard from kindergartners through third graders today:

Wait. What is happening here?
There is somebody’s nose on you and it is a big nose.
Who is that?
Why is there a guy on you from UP?
Do you know who that guy is? I do.
He is an old man. You are not an old man. You are not even a man.
My brother saw that movie.
Is he from Gravity Falls? Gravity Falls is very scary. (I have not seen Gravity Falls)
I am going to pet you.
I like you better in that shirt. (Never met the kid before)
He had balloons.

I enjoyed it thoroughly.

    1. Probably because of jet lag, it never occurred to me Carl would get attention – other than maybe a smile. 🤦‍♀️🤪 Such fun
