We are in Wales!

And it is raining. Quite a bit of raining actually, but it is nearly 50° and that is delightful.

Cory Band manager Neil picked up us and our extensive luggage and delivered us to Cardiff Arms Bistro and Hotel in Treorchy. We are staying just tonight in the hotel (lovely room) before we move to their guesthouse next door tomorrow.

Neil’s family welcomed us with an incredible meal – Sunday roast! – including roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, parsnips, carrots, peas, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, fabulous gravy, and wonderful desserts (including baked meringue, one of my favorites). His 8-year-old twins enthusiastically told us they knew several words of American – trash, garbage, and cotton candy. I cannot imagine a warmer welcome.

We visited the band’s rehearsal hall, and Keith played a few notes to get a feel for the room. We got 2-3 hours sleep and we’re going to try to stay up until 8, but it’s 6:30 and I am already giving up. We are six hours ahead of Minnesota, so I hope you are having a nice lunch as I go to sleep. Gnight!
