We enjoyed the musical stylings of Jen Burleigh-Bentz at the Phipps today. She used to be married to a guy in Keith’s big band and she sang with that band a number of times. She was in Mama Mia on Broadway a while ago (understudy the lead women and chorus). So, she’s pretty good. 🙂
It is so interesting to go to a “Broadway and Hollywood” concert. You know you are going to like every song. Well, you assume, because why would they pick bad songs when there are so many good ones? An interesting programming bit for today – she sometimes did two or three numbers from a show. I’ve heard lots of medleys, but don’t remember a singer doing several individual tunes from a show. I liked it, because once you hear one, you want to hear the whole soundtrack.
