E-Bikes

Carla and Mark invited us to try out their e-bikes. Carla took Keith out and around, giving him a chance to try the bike and learn a good route (with a hill!), then he and I went out. It was great fun. I love the idea (and reality!!) of help on hills. Hills are not my friend. We really enjoyed our little ride. I stopped at the foot of the driveway so I wouldn’t crash into a car. I was still straddling the bike when I exuberantly reported our successful ride. Carla’s bike is a little tall for me, but it’s a step-through (“girls’ bike) so that made it okay. Unfortunately, I forgot that and tried to get off my swinging my leg over the seat. I couldn’t come close to clearing that and knocked the 70 pound bike over onto myself. I was on one foot and knew immediately that there was no saving the situation, so I fell over (sort of in slow motion, almost a controlled fall) and tried to lower the bike. It was moderately successful. I did not seem to cause any damage to the bike. Keith did not rush to my rescue because he said he was trying to figure out what I was doing (the thought that I was “doing” something is just making me laugh and laugh). He also did not take a picture (therefore it might not have happened). I felt crashed all over but got over that while we all enjoyed a soup (got a new recipe) and salad dinner. My ankle didn’t want to walk to the car, but it did want to watch TV when we got home. We watched Survivor then I fast forwarded through three episodes of a game show called Are You Smarter than a Celebrity? The answer is yes. Yes, I am. I am also smarter than the people who were the contestants. One question was what do the stars represent on the US flag. Seriously. For adults. Helping each other. Not very challenging. I will not be watching that anymore.

One other thing – fall came last night. Our house was cold this morning and Keith turned on the heat because his fingers couldn’t work. Fair enough.

  1. We used the new fireplace (instead of just looking at it). It’s terrific! The living room went from 62 degrees to 70 degrees in the time it took me to shower.

  2. Yay! Yay! Yay!
I thought of our fireplaces…but they are all inoperative 🤦‍♀️ At least we know who to call now – we just need to call!
