We woke up earlier than necessary, confused about what time it actually was, because one clock said 6:15 and the other said 7:15. Either way, we did good sleeping (it was 6:15)
I heard from several people I should keep blogging for a few days to talk about readjusting, and I thought that would be okay. No one gets notifications that there are new entries and if you aren’t interested, you won’t look.
The most interesting thing that happened today is that nothing happened. And that was pretty okay. I unpacked 3 of the 4 suitcases. I took a nap at 10:15am because I was whomped. I tried poaching eggs for breakfast. They were edible, but I need practice. The taco soup for lunch was amazing. The pizza for dinner was delicious. In between breakfast and lunch, I made popcorn, because I have been craving it the entire time we have been gone. Craving it! (Keith even went to the convenience store at 10pm during the first week in Wales to buy me some popcorn. The only popcorn we found the whole trip was kettle corn – sweet and salty. It was pretty good, but not really popcorn)
I thought about going out to the store or to see someone, but I just could not imagine driving and not falling asleep. Keith worked all day, and he only came out to say he was super tired twice. Or three times. It blurs.
We watched 3 hours of Survivor without moving tonight.
Oh, Keith went next door and gave Jim the whisky (it’s from Scotland, so it is spelled without an e) and he was excited. He had read about that whisky and knew it was not available in the US, so it was the fun treat that we had hoped it would be. Yay.
That is about it. Home is not quite as exciting as Wales or Amsterdam, but no complaints! (Keith says he would say that the bed is more comfortable and the shower is awesome.)
Thanks! That Keith is still managing to work through all you adventures, time changes, and keeping up with life is truly amazing! Popcorn. Who would have thought that would be the day’s treat. Love it!
Who would have thought I would want it for a whole month?! Yesterday morning I thought “oh, I’ll have popcorn tonight when we watch TV”. That lasted about a minute and then I was making popcorn. Keith is amazing – all the time!
Ah, yes… Laphroiag is an Islay single malt scotch. It’s very “peaty” or you might say “smokey” in taste. I like it. Barbara hates the smell. When I ran out I didn’t buy any more (this was a long time ago). I kind of think that Jim will like it.
It said it was peaty. I had absolutely no idea of what that meant – thank you. I hope he likes it, but even if he doesn’t, he was pleased to receive it. He is a good neighbor!
