A lot of stuff is not here

I picked up my backpack yesterday and I thought I would add it to the pile I was taking next door. Why would I need my school bag after all? Um, because I had to work today!! That thought reallllly surprised me. I had completely forgotten about such things as work. Donna and I went in the hot tub to sooth our tired selves last night and I kept saying I had to remember to make my lunch. I thought I would forget; I thought I might sleep through work.

I made my ham sandwich and started to get a Tupperware, then realized they are all at the new house. I went to the Saran Wrap drawer, but it was empty, too. MMmm. I thought maybe I could wrap it in paper towel …then I remembered the pantry wasn’t empty! Big big roll of plastic wrap in there. Score. I got my apple and went to the knife block…oh, no knife block. No problem. I can eat an apple whole. Can’t I? (I did)

I realized that all our shoes were packed up except my Crocs, which I had been wearing. I got an email two days ago from the substitute suppliers I work for that I am not allowed to wear Crocs or sandals or heels to work. Mmm. It seemed reasonable to pay no attention to that rule, but I am not actually able to not follow the rules. Keith went over to look for some shoes for me and came back with my gold sparkly tennis shoes (from my C3PO costume). That seemed the ticket to wear to teach 6th grade math. Then I realized they fit great once they are on, but they are kind of made of cardboard and I really need a shoe horn to get them on. Back Keith went to the other house to get the shoe horn.

For breakfast, I fried an egg. I didn’t have a flipper, so I had to flip it with a fork. Harder and easier than you think it will be. Give it a try for fun some time. I was glad that it was pretty warm this morning, because my coat was gone.

Keith was working on the floor and Benjamin went to gambling with the guys and Donna ran to Target to return our expired yucky milk (We bought milk on 4/27 that had expired 4/22. I never look at milk dates. It has never occurred to me) and get herself breakfast Greek yogurt. I decided to make spaghetti for supper. I came over to get a big pot. I took two dirty small pans back to add to the dishwasher over there. I realized I wanted to make a salad out of ingredients that were back at home. I went back. I thought hard about anything else I would need. Nothing. I went back to the new house. The small dirty pan was for sauce and there was no dish soap. I went back for dish soap and grabbed the apples, too. That was it. I was able to cook our first meal in the new house! Yay!
