A New Thing

December 18, 2024

I was driving home from work and there was a … a something on the street in front of me. It was just a couple streets from home, in my neighborhood. I slowed down to go around, and gawked to the best of my ability to try to identify it. It was pick-up truck sized, but seemed to have some kind of heating unit on it that had lots of smoke billowing out. Was it a mobile pizza truck? There was a guy standing behind it as I slowly oozed by. Waste receptable cleaner. There was a trash can up in the air in the back (easy to ID from the side) being sprayed with water (I think). The smoke wasn’t steam, but water vapor? I don’t know. I went a block towards home and thought I should go back and take a picture; then I thought I was silly. I got home and told Keith. We jumped in the car to go back and see it.

It was disappeared. I guess it wouldn’t take long to wash a trash can, so it was on its way…just a small wet spot on the asphalt left behind. We drove around the neighborhood a little bit, but no luck.

So, I saw a new thing, and you did not. Sorry about that.

It’s picture sharing time. Play along any or every day. The theme for tomorrow is gifts and wrapping. As Jack Skellington says, “It’s the point of thing not to know!” How are you keeping those presents secret? Send pictures to me by December 19 at 10pm and I will get them in the POTD.

Here are some lovely parents from Kristine (2), Donna (2), Jerry, Barbara, Keith, me, and Benjamin (who went as far as he could up the parent tree).

  1. We have the guy come once a month to clean our garbage bin. But he comes only during the warmer months;, ours stopped in November.
