We had to travel to Waukesha to have a White Christmas (White is my family name, if you didn’t know) and that is the best kind of white Christmas. My sister invited me a couple weeks ago to the holiday family dinner she was having. She said she knew we couldn’t come, but she wanted me to know I was invited. I hung up the phone and told Keith I wanted to go home for the party on the 23rd, even if we had to drive back for Christmas at home on the 24th. He is ever agreeable, so we made a plan. We didn’t tell anyone we were planning on driving down, because I had to wait until I could get a weather report. I am whackadoodle about driving in the snow and we would not go if the weather said snow or ice.
The weather said 40-50 degrees and some light rain. I was not happy about the rain, but I could deal with it. Benjamin and Sean are already at our house for Christmas, and I hate missing out on any minutes with them, but I got to see A LOT of other people I rarely see, so it was well worth it.
Nancy reworked her living room to accommodate enough tables for everyone to sit in the same room. It was so great. She had lovely decorations and beautiful tables and wonderful food, and even a cocktail. My niece and family from Madison, my niece from Menomonee, and my nephew from Dallas, TX were all here (plus all the other fine relatives from the Waukesha area). YAY!
My two sisters and one of my brothers was here, so we called the other brother in Florida and got a picture of the five of us. YAY!
