Mississippi River Brass Band 2024 had their first concert tonight. It was right in Woodbury and we were so gratified that we had so many friends come. (I don’t think it is fair to all the real grown ups, but I am always just so delighted when the guys come. Yay Erick, Daniel, Amanda, Jeffrey, Johanna, and Adalynn)
The band sounded great. Keith played his arrangement of Tico Tico – very nice.
The band is playing at the American cemetery in Normandy, France, next week. Our friend, Mike, arranged two pieces for that concert that were rock solid. He also WROTE a piece weaving together somber arrangement of the armed forces songs and hymns. It was just terrific – I am so impressed with people who write songs. I mean, how can you do that? Of course, I watched Simone Biles the other day and how does she do that?
I was so excited to see everyone and to realize the long awaited trip is finally coming! There is another concert tomorrow, but I will stay home to pack. We leave in two days!
Safe and Happy travels! You and Keith are definitely ambassadors around the world!
Thank you, Cleone!
