An Unplanned Saturday

What a great thing a Saturday with nothing to do is! Keith told me first thing this morning that he (with Benjamin’s help) had purchased bits to build himself a new computer. His old desktop computer is apparently on its last legs. Apparently, he has an old desktop computer. I didn’t know (I don’t really wander into his office very often). No wonder he always calls the one in the family room my computer. Huh. Anyway, since a bunch of big pieces were arriving today, I guess he thought he should tell me. I wonder if I would have noticed if he hadn’t. He said he had less fun building it than he used to when he was young. I do not know if that is because it is hard getting up and down off the floor or if computer building itself is more complicated.

We floated in the hot tub for a long time this morning, watching it snow. It was terrific. I don’t know how – since we have basically been together for three weeks straight, but we had a lot to talk about. The topics kept shifting so fast I thought it would be funny if anyone were listening to us. We came in and napped, because YAY! Naps!, then made a mid-afternoon lunch of taco burgers – fabulously invented by us as we made them. We decided to watch season 2 of Ted Lasso with lunch…and then continued until we finished the whole season. Keith was building his computer and I was crafting up some paper flowers and it was simply glorious.

It’s my least favorite night of the year – jump the clocks forward day. At least watching tv for 8 hours makes it seem like it is already the middle of the night. G’night!

Update: He just read this and told me he doesn’t have an old desktop. He has a not-very-old laptop that is dumb, and he is replacing that. With a desktop. Why do they call them that? No one puts that beast on a desk…

  1. When I needed a new computer, Jared bought me a desktop because, he said, “you never take your computer anywhere, and you can get a way better desktop for less money.” So now I have a powerful desktop computer, (that sits on the floor) and I have a hand-me-down laptop from my sister, that I take with me to church every Wednesday night!
