Happy birthday to my friend, Mollie!
We slept in. We set our alarm for 8 hours after we were going to bed last night. What a luxury.
We rolled into the park about 10:30 and immediately saw DeVine. She is just beautiful.
We started with a terrific safari. We saw a zebra running fast across the savanna, then some up close and personal wildebeest, next came a giraffe sneaking through some bushes, a peek of a baby elephant and lots of rhinos. I wished for a rhino to be right next to the truck on my side, and there he was! Charmed again.
Daniel and Amanda had never been to Sa’tuli Canteen, and they liked it as much as we do. We made sure to be there when the parrots flew in front of the Tree of Life. It never gets old – breathtaking every time.
We went to the Bug’s Life show – because it is great and because Amanda had never seen it. Rumor has it that they are going to be putting something new in the Tree of Life, so maybe this was our last time to be frightened by the bugs.
We found some flowers that said MOM for Mother’s Day (I assume). I was trying to help my being in the photo. You think you are normal, then there are pictures to prove otherwise.
We got in line for the Lion King show about 7 minutes before it started. They had let the people in about 15 previously, and we entered a long line of people hoping to squeeze in somewhere. Our luck held and we were the last ones into the theater before they cut off the line! We love the Nemo musical, so of course we went to that as well. We were early and had some relaxing A/C time before the show. I was very resty, eyes closed and all. I heard the show start and got my eyes open…now and again…but mostly slept through it. I was delighted to find out Daniel documented it. Having people with us is more than just fun, I actually get to be IN some pictures! (I just found out that some people ended up sitting to my right. Huh.)
I found Kevin. He was going over to see the band and to dance. It was wonderful.
We couldn’t figure out anywhere we wanted to eat dinner at the AK, so we went downtown and had poutine and The Earl of Sandwich. We shopped a little, then came home. It was cold on the bus!
