We went to the Edina Art Festival this morning. We arrived by 10am because the internet said it would crowded. We happily got a spot in a nearby ramp. One of the very first booths we saw we loved everything inside. The artist made wall art using found objects – something we both like so much. There were a lot of buttons, and pencils, and whatevers. We lingered quite a while, sure we would come back and buy something. There was so much to see; it was great. About noon, we stepped into the Edina Grill for lunch. We had delicious breakfast items and a wonderful waiter named David. The toast came with a little dish of homemade berry jam. David took Keith’s dishes before he was able to fully empty the dish.

About 2pm, we had been up and down all the aisles and went back to look at our first guy. The one we liked best was gone! Sold. We really didn’t think we should buy art because nothing is organized in our house, so it was a good thing. Keith asked what we should do next. I was hot and tired and said, “Well, we could go to a movie,” having no idea that there was a movie theater directly behind me.

So, we did. We were at the perfect time – all four theaters were starting a movie within the half hour. Inside, we found out our theater was upstairs. We went up and found lots of stuff from the Shining. Huh.

We also found the Gold Bar. It was a splendidly gold room. I think maybe my bathroom should be gold. I like shiny.

We chose a Wes Anderson movie. It was – as expected – very strange. I fell asleep as it started and missed a few minutes. When Keith poked me awake, I seriously thought I had missed the entire movie. He said it was about 2 minutes.
We had Chicago dogs and Maxwell St. polish from a food truck. It started to rain while we waited for our food. We had umbrellas, but my feet/shoes got pretty wet.

After eating, we headed a few miles away to Bloomington for Keith to play with the Twin Cities Brass Band. He played repiano, which was a new thing. It was hard to find him because the stage was small and he was pushed back in order to fit. The concert was really good. Last time we heard them (a number of years ago) we were not impressed. Yay for now!

I look like a psycho in the potd, but it’s the only other picture we had. And the hat matched my dress.
