Arte Museum

We walked 20 minutes over to the strip. We could sometimes see the Sphere as we walked – I really liked seeing what it changed to.

The Arte Museum is new in town. It calls itself the ultimate immersive art experience and the ads show a lot of video of water filling a room. We thought we should give it a go.

The first room was called the infinite waterfall. There were mirrors everywhere, so it certainly did look infinite.

The next room had me boggled often. There were so many mirrored walls that I kept politely waiting for myself to go ahead of me. The room was scented, as well as full of flowers. There was a kaleidoscope room of flowers that was very cool and doesn’t look like anything in a picture – but I will put it here anyway.

Next came the whale. It was a wall of water that sometimes was a whale and sometimes was water. We stayed quite a while, because it was just really cool.

Did I say everything was moving all the time? It was. That is important to understand. The stuff we saw was way cooler than these pictures. But, imagine.

Next there were flowers that bloomed when you touched them. Fun. We hurried around and touched as many as we could before they would start to close.

The star room was my favorite, until I did the next thing. Anyway, it was a mirrored room filled with lanterns that turned colors to music. It was gorgeous. It said please don’t touch the installation, and people just walked around and bonked into the lights and I was very crabby at them. C’mon, people! This is why we can’t have nice things!

The animation station or whatever it was called was the best. You got to color animals, put them on a scanner, and POOF they appeared walking around in the jungle on the walls. I loved it so much. Keith’s elephant was yellow with blue stripes and my zebra was plaid with pink stripes. I wouldn’t mind if we were still there, watching my guy go back and forth.

There was a beach, and several times I stepped out of the way to avoid my feet getting in the surf. Teehee.

The “big” room had three different films. The first was about the lights of Las Vegas.

The second was Joseon art of Korea (1400 – 1600). Since I am watching Sho-gun, set in Japan 1600, it felt very much part of our trip.

The last was from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris about art. Of course, I loved the Monet the most, but the Van Gogh was excellent!

Afterward, we walked up and down the strip a little bit. It’s pretty great.

We wandered through a mall on the way home. There was a Raiders store in which everything was black and white. I literally thought I went color blind for a second. It was sooooo weird.
