Sunday, April 9, 2023 Almost 20 years ago, I cross-stitched a picture for my mom. It says “Happy Easter”, with the letters surrounded by and maybe made out of flowers. I was working it during lunch at school, probably because I wasn’t going to finish it in time otherwise. Someone came in and peeked over

Saturday, April 8, 2023 We went to watch some of the process of making maple syrup out of sap. The first part involves boiling sap for a long time, to cook off the water. I read it takes 40 gallons of sap to make a gallon of syrup, so a LOT of boiling needs to

Friday, April 7, 2023 We went to Treasure Island Resort and Casino (if you are from around here their jingle should now be running through your head) to see an Elton John cover show tonight. I figured if we liked Elton John enough to go see him, we would probably enjoy a cover show. And

Thursday, April 6, 2023 We went to see Hamilton tonight and the crowd was roaring! It was really fun when the show started and the audience just exploded when Alexander came out. There is something great about being in an audience, but being in a big, appreciative crowd is even better. The first time we

Wednesday, April 5, 2023 I was subbing for a tech ed teacher today. I assumed (never assume) that was a computer guy who taught computer-y stuff because that is what tech is. And we didn’t take anything else back and forth to school, just shoes. I was walking home, swinging my

Sunday, April 2. 2023 The definition of nostalgia is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. I am always so nostalgic for things from the 1950s, which is odd because I don’t have happy personal associations because I WASN’T BORN YET. Yet, when

Saturday, April 1, 2023 We woke up to 12 inches of beautiful snow this morning. Everyone else seemed to be unable to grasp that April snow is not unusual in Minnesota. We kept track for 20 years on Keith’s birthday – was it winter or was it summer? Guess what? Perfect split – 10 years

Friday, March 31, 2023 I checked in to school this morning and did not receive a sub folder – the place where I found the free lunch ticket yesterday. I just got a key. I thought about asking for one. Maybe I could check to see that they were in the folders every day and
