This is the A hall of Woodbury middle school, where I worked as a lunch lady, a paraprofessional, and as a substitute teacher for about 15 years. After pandemic, I started to go to different schools, even those with different-aged students. That is a personal silver lining for that horrible event.
I had wonderful friends whom I worked with here. This hall is where I met two of my dearest friends, Maren and Louise. I spent a lot of mornings leaning again the ledge of that display case (like today), watching kids get ready for the day, chatting with my friends. Going to different schools is really working for me now – much more fun and much less stress – but I do miss those friends.
I had a great time in 7th grade science today. I loved seeing friends, and knowing where everything is and how things roll, but I will be happy to be back in elementary school tomorrow. I’m hosting “Breakfast and Books” for parents in the media center. You just never know what fun that might be.
Woodbury Junior (now Middle) is almost hallowed territory for me. My work home for thirteen years; the place of many friendships and experiences. I’m so glad my grandson learns there today.
And the site of the secret pizza lunch club! ♥️
