We went to see the musical version of Back to the Future tonight. I have absolutely no idea how Doc Brown came sliding into the Twin Pines Mall parking lot when Marty first got there. No Delorean, blink, Delorean. I liked it. The actors did pretty good imitations of their movie forebears, while also making the characters their own. I couldn’t look at them through my binoculars, because then they were really not right at all. The sets were lots of fun and the pacing was really well done – and some random top hatted dancers that got left in Doc’s house were hilarious.
Keith read that it was a good night for northern lights, so we came home, switched cars and convertibled away from town. We watched the sky for a while and saw the brightest falling star either of us had ever seen, but no green or pink or anything in the sky. Still, sitting in the dark listening to the bugs talk is always fun.
