Happy first day of spring! Did you even know? The equinox is at 11:06pm EDT today. It’s the 19th this year because of leap year. I thought it regularly fluctuated between the 20th and the 21st, but apparently it will not be on the 21st for the entire 21st century. Huuuuuh.
I napped while Keith finished working today. He came in and asked me what we were having for dinner, and I said I was making tacos. Excellent plan. But he crawled in bed and immediately fell asleep, so I played on my phone, so as not to wake him up. (I’m nice like that) Lucky thing (what if I had missed the text because I was making dinner?!), because after a bit, Maren texted and suggested I pick her and Mollie up and we go for free ice cream cones at DQ – in honor of the first day of spring. Her husband told her she was a bad friend for a diabetic. I said eh. (Everything in moderation! No carbs so far today – just veggies!) Then she had an even better idea! Keith drives us all! YAY. Keith woke up and we picked them up. We had to go around the block to get in the line that snaked out of the parking lot, down the street, and around the corner. No problem waiting – Mollie suggested playing Waffle or Pancake. A new game for me! She thought of a thing and I said waffle or pancake. She had to decide to which of those two her item was more similar. She said waffle. Then I had to change pancake. I asked waffle or mailbox. Mailbox. And so it went. It was fun. The answer was a shrub.
Keith was crabby at people who just passed the 20+ car line (it actually went quite quickly), pulled into the parking lot using the exit side of the driveway, then pushed their way into the front part of the line. I think his crabby was entirely warranted, but it is SO unlike him to be crabby. Maren said later that she liked Spicy Keith, but she wouldn’t order him that way all the time. Tee hee.
