Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Thursday, December 19, 2024

We went through the snow to the Ames Theater in Burnsville (a new place for us – very nice – looks like there is a lot to see there) to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. They are a swing revival band with a killer horn section. Their trumpets played really high lots of times. There were mostly Christmas songs, but a few regular tunes tossed in. All nine of them have been playing together for 31 years. They played a 90-minute set and zoom, we were out to drive through the snow back home.

I heard from a bunch of people that they were very happy to see all those parents yesterday. Here are two more pictures – from 1967 and 1970 – from my friend, Carla. Look at those parents and those same sized kids!

Tomorrow’s theme will be SNOW, since we got some today. I didn’t think it was going to happen, but we will have a white Christmas. I subbed for third graders on Wednesday and they told me it hadn’t snowed yet because it wasn’t Christmas yet – it would certainly snow for Christmas. I am so glad it snowed for them! Send your SNOW pictures by 10pm December 20 and I will get them in the potd.

They aren’t filled yet – no ribbons 🙂
