After 2 inches of rain (and sitting in a chair most of the day) yesterday, I decided to get out among the weeds today. Being gone several weeks in each of May, June, and July (during the rainiest season in memory), the yard is mostly now weeds. Very tall weeds. I attacked today. After about 20 minutes, I really lost interest. I just stood there and looked and realized I really had not made a dent, yet I already had a big pile. I thought reallllly hard about calling it a day, but then I thought about how much harder everything would be to pull on a day NOT after a big rain. I made a lot of progress in 90 minutes, then I needed a break. I thought I would go in the pool, but I just sat for a while, then I attacked again. Good work me.
There is still so much to do.
I swam laps for the first time this year. I have hardly been in the pool – usually with visitors, so so far no actual swimming. It was 74 and sunny or perfect today. I floated a bit.
Alexander texted and asked us out for ramen. If we go for ramen in Luxembourg, we can go for ramen in Maplewood. It was a delightful meal.
We went to visit neighbors on their deck. Between their travels and ours, we never see each other. I am glad we grabbed an oppportunity when we saw an open garage door.
It was pointed out that yesterday’s tomato is purple inside as well as outside. I cut it this morning before I ate it. It was beautiful.
Last, but certainly not least, Kamala Harris stole our governor today. I hate to lose him, because he has just been a wonderful governor, but go get’em, Tim!
1) Gotta see an “after” photo – those are impressive weeds!!! 2) VERY nice tomato… 3) Rah Tim! Good choice – hope you get ANOTHER person like him for governor. 4) spectacular looking ramen – nice, Alexander!
