Keith has mostly been celebrating retirement by smiling a lot. Today he had his retirement party. The only other Minnesota employee from the now-defunct company took him out for lunch! It is funny that the only two in Minnesota both live in Woodbury. The other guy got a new job on Friday (starting in a month!! A month off, knowing you are going to go back to work! Total win) so they were also celebrating that. They sat and talked for several hours and found all sorts of common ground they had never covered before. Fun.
When he got the mail, he was treated to his first retirement card, or more accurately, happy new phase card – and it was from Scotland!! How great is that? Alex and Joe from the boat (recent river cruise) sent him a great card. I think the moral of the story here is, when in doubt, send a card. The receiver will be delighted.
I went to work in 7/8th grade math. I had some kids from 3rd hour last year (you remember, I survived 3rd hour). They were ridiculously happy to see me (which is VERY gratifying) and we had no issues about anything all day. Dream work!
