It was a glorious 85 degree day in Woodbury. I roasted the last bunch of Roma tomatoes and made incredible soup (or so Keith said. I tasted it. Gross.) Then I headed out to swim for probably the last time this year.
It’s funny how you feel like you have to somehow swim extra at this time of year. Not longer – just somehow savor it more. I swam, then floated and looked at the blue sky. I was listening to my grammar book (yes) and I learned a new grammar! Appositives! I was very excited. I had to get off my raft and look up how it is spelled. I had never heard the term before. I assume they hadn’t been invented when I was in middle school, so long ago.
I was listening and floating and not napping, because I was savoring; then I was waking up when my move-the-trickling-tree-hose alarm went off. I savored another hour ( I spent a lot of that time underwater looking at the sun patterns on the floor. It’s a great view), then hopped out and got ready to go.
At 4:00, our friend, Dave, took us to the airport and we flew to Boston. We watched the newish Spiderverse movie and I was bored. I give it no stars. Boo.
We took a bus to the car rental place, which was tricky because apparently Boston people want to keep things secret. I could give them hints on making signs.
We left the rental place about 11:10, and wended our way through Boston. We went verrrrrrry slowly through a big, long tunnel. The idea of a late flight was to be here when traffic wasn’t. Well, traffic is still going strong at 11pm, but, of course, much less than daytime.
We made it to Concord and our cute little hotel. We are on a town square and it is very picturesque.
Unexpected surprise! Yea!!!
Every once in awhile we have to go somewhere, to spice up the potd!
