Today was the Sheldon Theater Brass Band spring concert. I really enjoyed the concert. During the first half, John (the announcer) started talking about Keith and his experience with Cory Band. The band was playing Elephant Patrol by Cory conductor Philip Harper, a tune Keith played with the band and had recommended to Sheldon. It was kinda fun and funny to have Keith’s name come up during the show. During the penultimate song in the first half, I suddenly had a coughing fit and had to leave the theater. What the heck was that about? I coughed and coughed and coughed, and then I was done. They very nicely had the audio playing in the lobby and in the bathroom, so I didn’t really miss it (but live is really better than hearing even a live recording. Live recording? Is that a thing? I don’t know, but you know what I mean).
After the show, there was a reception for band sponsors (us!), so we headed down to the Staghead bar for food and drink. I really enjoyed getting to visit with all the band members and eating a ton of cheesy hashbrowns. Win win!
So, what did all the tubas play for their feature?
That was Elephant Patrol.
