It’s a family saying, and it is also true. Okay, I should probably explain that. One time I had a neck thing going on for several days that HURT SO MUCH. It hurt my neck to blink. TO BLINK! I went to urgent care and they gave me a muscle relaxant. The pain released and I was a goo, before I fell asleep. The boys were about 12 and 16 – I think – and I told Keith to gather them up (I believe The Sean was there, too…but I am a bit hazy on that, because I was quite hazy at the time) – and I pronounce to them “Drugs…are…….awesome.” I told them to never, never ever try recreational drugs because drugs are so awesome you will never want to stop and then you will be dead. I believe then I fell asleep. So, now it’s a family saying. And they are.
Keith went to the ER last night. He couldn’t stop coughing and was feeling miserable and just couldn’t wait until morning to go to urgent care. They did a nebulizer treatment on him right away, which slowed the coughing some. They gave him steroids. They tested for Covid and pertussis (both came back negative today), did a chest x-ray for pneumonia, and some other stuff I can’t remember because I wasn’t there. The doctor said he had plenty of gunk in his lungs, but it wasn’t officially pneumonia. He got antibiotics, albuterol, eye drops, and steroids first thing this morning. (He was at CVS before it opened.) He was able to nap today and is definitely showing signs of improvement.
I stayed awake until he texted that he was on his way home, just a few minutes shy of being up 27 hours straight (lies – brief nap on the plane). He texted and I sat down on the bed and woke up 11 minutes later when he walked in the bedroom (and coughed). He got to sleep over an hour in his own bed before the coughing sent him to sleep in a chair – but at least it was a comfy chair.
I woke up this morning with a cough, feeling achy, and absolutely no voice. I can’t even get my vocal folds to come together to cough very well, so that is challenging. It doesn’t matter at all that I am sick, because I am home!!
I sat and watched the first Star Trek movie (I didn’t skip it) because I didn’t feel well enough to do much of anything else. I remember being very disappointed in it 43 years ago when I saw it in the theater. It is so, so, so much worse now.
So happy to know Keith is on the mend. Welcome home.
Thank you!
Time for relaxation and recovery for you both. Do hope Keith is better soon and you don’t suffer the same.
Thank you for the wonderful adventures and beautiful pictures.
We don’t have a holiday booked for this year……. why go on another when I travelled with you! 🙂🙂
Looking forward to your cruise now.
I need also to up my game with IT as well so I can share some of my adventures with you.
Take care of yourselves. 💕
My illness is not nearly at Keith’s level – just really tired and no voice. Yes! I would love to share in your adventures!
