We went to Fort Snelling National Cemetery for the first time today. Our friend Kristine’s dad was interned at 2pm.
I read that Fort Snelling is home to the first all-volunteer Memorial Rifle Squad. They perform funeral honors each weekday for as many as 17 Veterans between 10am and 2pm. They have been there for over 70,000 burials.
I realize that it isn’t the same people every day, but that is amazing. They have never missed a scheduled service, even given Minnesota’s less than hospitable weather. It is a very moving service, giving final respects to those who have passed away.

I’m so glad Keith could play taps so beautifully for our family and dad. Thank you again!!!
