We went an entire month without going to a movie. There was not a minute that Keith wasn’t working (at work or on the bathroom while we were in Madison), so it makes sense. We went to the 11:30am showing of Ghostbusters and thoroughly enjoyed being in a theater and seeing a fun movie.
Tonight, we went to Open Door theater in Inver Grove Heights (so close!) to see Lilies of the Field. I have never seen the movie or play before, so it was entirely new. I assumed there would be lilies and fields. There were not. The main characters were nuns and a guy who was passing by (although was he passing? He had stopped, hadn’t he? Yes, he had). It was funny and spiritual and gave me very pleasant things to think about. The cast was very good. I was thinking about how much I was enjoying the padre – he was just right and I 100% just believed he was a padre from the southwest part of the country that just stopped in to tell us a story and what a good job he was doing, when he forgot his lines. I cursed him without meaning to. He recovered after an awkward moment and all was well. There was a bathtub that may or may not have been made of paper mâché. It made me wonder (not for the first time) why I don’t work with a theater company to help make stuff. I would like if someone said, “Make a paper mâché bathtub.” A lot.
