What a day, what a day, what a day. My friends Christina, Benjamin, and William came for the first pool day of the summer. The boys were thrilled and played and jumped and splashed for hours while Christina and I chatted about everything – what bliss! -then we got in the pool and we all played and jumped and splashed.
There really isn’t food in the house, so we headed to Taco John’s for dinner. I got the treat of a diet Mt. Dew because I wasn’t worried about the caffeine keeping me awake tonight. I needed to be awake for the show and if I am awake later tonight, I am in the middle of TWO really good books and there is no work tomorrow. (There is another trip and I need to pack, so that too)
We went to see what I have considered my favorite musical since I saw it the first time two and a half years ago. (I am unsure if you can pick a favorite after one seeing. Maybe you have to let it be for 10 years or something, but, man, did I like it.) I was reaaallllly hoping I would still love it (you never know….SIX was ho hum the second time and I did NOT see that coming) and I DID love it! It is so, so good! So funny and so sad and so good! If you get a chance to see it, do it!
We sat next to a mom and adult daughter from Woodbury who go to a lot of shows and I should be their friend. They were planning a trip to Chanhassen to see White Christmas in December and wearing 50s style clothes. I would dress up. I would go. I would stay in the hotel on the other side of town just for fun. When they exited the theater, the daughter was wearing a Frodo mini backpack I immediately pointed out to Keith. When you see one you love, you know it right away. We saw them outside the restroom and got into a deep Lord of the Rings conversation and learned that there is a new LOTR musical in Chicago July19-Sept 1. There must be a day in there that we don’t have something scheduled…I hope.
And you could take the train to Chicago!
Oh my goodness!!!!!!!! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that
