We went to see the “Christmas” play at Lyric Arts tonight. It is the third in a series about the Bennet sisters (ala Pride and Prejudice) and was definitely the best. It was very funny. I laughed out loud several times, which is saying something about a play set in 1815-20.
It is the official start to the Christmas season for us, I think, even though it wasn’t really a Christmasy play – the first act happened the day after Christmas, but it could have been any time. Still, this weekend is crafting time for holiday gifts, so I am feeling very festive. There is so little time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, we are just going to have to get started early.
I thought up a funtivity to get everyone participating in the POTD. I was going to make advent-ish calendars for a couple people, then I expanded and expanded and wanted everyone to play, so it is just going to be here on the blog. Beginning next weekend, I am going to invite everyone reading to send me a themed picture every day. The themes will be Christmas related and fairly broad, so it will be fun to see what each of you chose to photograph. I will put each day’s theme at the bottom of the post. I usually post quite late, and you might read it the next morning or whenever. The picture will be due by the next day at 8pm CST. (I write next Friday and say the theme is Let it Snow. You read it on Saturday morning. You send me a picture by Sunday night.) You will have to text or email me the picture and I will put them all together for everyone to see that night. You can be anonymous or take credit – your choice. I hope lots of people play along. It might just be Keith, but he is looking forward to it. Oh, maybe I will play. I will play, because I like to play!
Nothing is better than games at Christmas. Looking forward to joining in. 🎄
YAY!
Oh, RAH!!! So, timing couldn’t be better (I think). We’re getting to fly home from San Antonio next Saturday morning (gotta be at the airport at 5 AM), so hopefully there will be time to get in on round one! Woo-hoo!!!
I am so glad things are in a good enough state you can head for home!
