Last February 12, I wrote my first blog entry. We were at the airport, awaiting our flight to Wales. It seems both a million years and five minutes ago. I wish I had started the blog a week, or a month, before we left, because everything was so up in the air and we were so excited and yet so hesitant to go. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into – certainly no idea how long we were going to stay. We did not at all expect to only be there a month! But it was perfect. It was our greatest adventure. I haven’t gone back and reread any of the blog. I think I am going to start reading one/day – a year ago each day. I think I remember all about being in Wales, but I am SURE I will be surprised by what I read.
When we got home, I was going to stop, because obviously the adventure was over. I had a few people encourage me to keep writing and I figured if no one wanted to read, that was totally okay. Keith can do a bunch of computer-y things to find out how many people have logged in in a month, but we have no idea who is reading. He hasn’t looked at the how many for a long time, and it doesn’t matter. I love having a record of our regular lives. Every night, we have a nice chat about the day. We can scroll back and see just the pictures and look at all the cool stuff we have been doing – intermixed with the same old, same old.
I play a lot of solitaire and that never makes it to the blog. I don’t think we’ve ever done anything so we had something to write bout – maybe we should. Keith says we do a lot. I think he does a lot and I go along, and I love that.
We’re heading out on a big adventure in a week. (Do you want to know where we’re going? Or is it fun to just see it unfold? I vote for unfolding.)
I guess I don’t have a picture of an anniversary, so I am going to use one from today. We went to Alexander’s house so he could engrave something for our friend, Tom. Keith was very busy telling Alexander that he had to do a good job, and Alexander was busy telling him that he wouldn’t not do a good job if he could help it. I was sitting in a recliner with Colby Kitty sitting on my lap. It was funny to listen to them. Alexander did a good job. Yay Alexander.
I saw the POTD and knew exactly where you were. I read about the Keith/Alexander conversation and it sounded like some Louise/Tom conversations I remember. Congratulations to Alexander and Tom for jobs well done.
🎉🎉🎉
And what a year it has been! Thanks for all the fun…. Heads up for Keith, although he probably already knows – Roger Bobo passed away this weekend. (For everybody else – very, very, VERY famous tuba player…) In the meantime, unfolding is great, and looking forward to more fun!!!
Gary Bird mentioned Roger’s passing during Metro Brass. May he rest in piece
