We had a party! It was a terrific party. People came. They brought food. All of it was good. We made some food. All of it was good. It was the first time a baby came to our July 4th party and she was smiley and charming and cute as could be!! There was a puzzle on our kitchen table and people who are waaaaaaaaay better at puzzles than I am worked on the hard puzzle and made such great progress! We played bocce ball. There has always been a double elimination bocce ball tournament. This year we started a bit later in the day, so it was a single elimination match. Teams were chosen when I walked up to people and said who is your partner? (There used to be rules about kids and adults and not playing with relatives, but today was a free-for-all). Team names were decided quickly and the teams were: Puzzlers, Firecrackers, Where’s Elizabeth, The Winners in German, And so it is to you and unto you and ever after (I don’t have that one quite right, but Daniel and Alexnder can say it right very fast~ okay, it might be As It Is Such So It Is Unto You ~ or it might not be), Numerically Ordered, I’m Thinking, This is Too Much Pressure. Everyone pulled up chairs and spectated – it was terrific. There was so much good bocce balling happening – so many good throws and so many bad throws. As always, our yard is spectacular for its secret bumps and lumps. Alexander and Mike (Numerically Ordered) won and were awarded fabulous head massagers as prizes.
