I woke up in the night and stretched and stretched and was so very appreciative of having a bed instead of a coach seat. I was lying there, enjoying my bunk, enjoying my train, when the train stopped. When it started up again, it was so sudden I slid down the bed a couple inches. I was so surprised I laughed out loud. Then I had even more reasons to like my train bed. I wondered why I like the train so much and I have no answers. I just really do.
We had a lot of no signal time last night and this morning, but we got a message from Daniel just in time to act on it. Skykomish (a town) live streams trains coming out of a tunnel into their town. I clicked the link in time to see us rolling through town! Daniel got great pictures of our train!

We had several tunnels as we traveled through the Cascades. It was just gorgeous. We were in coniferous forest, but could easily see the nearby snow capped mountains. The room across from ours has been empty, so we could hop back and forth to see the view on both sides.

Kristine scooped us up at the beautiful train station and took us to her new house. Her new BEAUTIFUL house. I love it so much. I can’t think of any house I’ve actually been to that I liked more except (maybe) Windsor Castle.
I kinda wish I had taken a picture of any of the house, but I didn’t. Maybe tomorrow.
We went to see Snoqualmie Falls (with the completely underground power plant that Charles Baker developed and then opened in 1899 after borrowing money from his dad to fund it) (I read a sign) and it was beautiful. What is it about moving water that is so great?

We ate dinner on the fabulous house’s marvelous deck, kept cozy by the heaters on the ceiling (HEATERS ON THE CEILING)(♥️). Mike came home from a two day climbing mountains class he was teaching (man, we know interesting people) and we planned some of tomorrow’s adventure (we helped by saying, “sure, let’s leave at 9”).
We are train lagged or something because I keep falling asleep trying to type this on my phone. Zzzzz
Enjoy your time. Their house is truly a beauty. A lot of work and detail put into the process. Just gorgeous.
It’s so great! Definitely worth the wait
