I wanted our drive to Red Wing for brass band to be in the sunny part of the day, so we decided to leave early and eat dinner there instead of before we left. We drove the river road on the Wisconsin side. Lots of leaves were blown off during yesterday’s windy day, but there were still some beautiful trees to see.
We went to a family restaurant kind of place called Randy’s. We had glanced at the menu before we left home and saw chicken ala king, which sounded like a thing we would like, so we chose the restaurant. We walked in and looked at the menu. The first thing I saw was a hot roast beef and gravy sandwich with mashed potatoes. Keith said, “I’m having the roast beef sandwich.” So, to we made it two. Woodbury is just not the town for such classic meals. We enjoyed very much.
Rehearsal was a run through for the concert this week. Glen Newton and Brian Borovsky are playing a duet, as Glen is retiring from the band after the concert. Glen has been such a pillar of the band – playing in a lot of different sections (wherever he was needed), writing new music and grants, creating videos, keeping the history, and just about anything else you could imagine needing to be done. He has been the busiest person I know and is now reducing his commitments to focus on cat shows and travel. I just wish him all the very best and hope we continue to see him – perhaps attending a few concerts.
The North Pole in Newport has a wonderful hot beef sandwich.
THAT is very good to know!
