We went to see the show & Juliet tonight. I knew it was an imagining of if Juliet had not died (spoilers!) at the end of Romeo and Juliet and what she would do with her life, but that is all I knew. Turns out it is a jukebox musical (Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, etc) and it is hilarious. I haven’t laughed so much at William Shakespeare since Something Rotten.
The show gives ample opportunity for many performers to belt out a showstopper, (or two) and no one disappointed! Wow. The packed audience was thrilled and let the cast know. It is such fun to have such excited applause.
We enjoyed a detour on the way there and on the way home, because all roads are closed now. As we came into the cul-de-sac, Keith turned into our driveway and I audibly said whooaaa. I would TOTALLY have gone to our old house. We’ve slept in the guest room two nights, so I’ve got to remember where I live!
My friend Teresa and I also saw & Juliet last night. LOVED IT! So clever and so much fun.
