Narwals are real

Okay, I knew they were, but seeing a bunch of them filmed by the National Geographic people was really cool. We went to a concert/video show by NG a few years ago and it was spectacular. Music and video blew us away. When we saw this opportunity, we had to go.

To say it was disappointing wouldn’t really be fair, because of the extreme terrificness of the first one, but …

The music was pretty standard background music and the narration tried way too hard to be dramatic, but the video was equally spectacular. We had a fine time.

We bolted after clapping and hurried to our car. We met Rob and Maren at the Union Depot train station parking ramp (hardly any confusion at all) and Rob returned our car to our home. Maren thought we were taking the train to the airport to get on a plane to Seattle, but no. We are getting on a train to ride it to Seattle.

We are in the lounge. We ate the fruit snacks, pretzels, and chocolate biscuits. The train is due any minute – which could be two to one thousand minutes.

  1. The Union Depot parking lot is the worst. The roads and parking spots are the narrowest I’ve ever seen, and there are giant stone pillars everywhere that you have to barely squeeze by. I was positive I was going to hit something when I was there, and it’s a miracle I managed to avoid it.

    1. We did this same route about 20 years ago with the boys. It’s a nice slow way to travel and take in the scenery. Well, much of North Dakota is just flat and featureless, but it’s still entertaining. If you’re not in a hurry, it’s a great way to travel.
