We packed up almost everything we own to drive to Wisconsin to visit my sisters and brothers for a couple days. Keith went to do pool chemicals and the cover wouldn’t open more than half way.
It was the first time we’d tried it since they installed the new cover parts.
Huh.
Keith investigated, then sent a note to the pool guy. Hopefully, and I mean HOPEFULLY, it will get fixed before we return.
We scooped up our niece in Menomonie and continued south. I fell asleep before we got back to the highway. I was dreaming that we were on the highway and I kept reaching out and hitting motorcycles in front of us. Apparently I have very long dream arms.
We were sailing along by the Dells when traffic stopped suddenly. The car in front of us ran into the car in front of him, really smashing up the front of his car. Luckily, Keith was able to stop with a foot or so to spare. We stopped so quickly I felt like I felt a whump and I said, “Are we hit?!” Nope! The car behind us was farther back and still coming to a stop.
The slow down/stop was inexplicable- we immediately started back to highway speeds (except for the two crashed cars). We only made it about 15 more minutes, then we were stopped again – this time we were delayed an hour because of an accident. It was not the best drive to Waukesha.
We went to the fancy, nearby grocery store. I love a new grocery store. This one has beautiful things to shop for in its gifty area and so many alcohols! Liquor in a grocery store is so foreign to us. I found a machine that makes bread! We watched the video about it several times. I’m going to go back during a week day and try to see it go.
We had spicy brats and tiny potato chips for dinner, then went for frozen custard. We felt very Wisconsin-y.
