I was slightly freaked out when I found out Keith was having a rehearsal this morning. I needed him to do all the running things up and down the stairs while I got the cooking done. We got things pretty well-organized last night, so I was feeling alright about everything. I had lots to do, but not an insurmountable amount. I was planning on surprising him with how much I accomplished before he got home at noon. I woke up at 7:10 and was mentally going through the lists while cuddling in the covers until his 7:45 alarm. He hopped up to take a shower, while I stayed just a minute longer in bed.
I woke up at 10:59. TEN-FIFTY-NINE!! I don’t think I’ve slept that late since before Benjamin was born. I immediately texted I JUST WOKE UP to Keith, who responded he was on his way home and would see me soon. Seriously! No one was getting this party ready.
We did a great job doing stuff and were ALL ready when Mark and Mac arrived at 3pm. It was so much fun to have two two-year-olds at the party. Mac is definitely zoomier than Adalynn, but they both really enjoyed our dancing Christmas tree, and we all listened to Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree a LOT of times.
The colorable table cloth was a hit – these people are VERY good color-ers.
The game this year was majority rules – if your answer was in the majority, you got a point. The questions were
1. Best Christmas song
2. Best main course for Christmas dinner
3. What time should the kids be allowed up for Christmas morning?
4. What is the best Christmas carol/church song?
5. What is the best shape for a cookie cutter?
6. What is the best Christmas movie?
7. What is the best TV Christmas special? (Something from TV you watch every year)
8. What do you do on Christmas afternoon?
9. When should you take down the Christmas tree?
10. What goes on top of the Christmas tree?
11. How many gifts does an adult get on Christmas?
I will put the majority answers down at the bottom, after the pictures, in case you want to play along.
Everyone brought delicious things, and there was much conversation, and it was so wonderful to see everyone!

It’s time for our holly, jolly participation in the POTD! The theme of day fourteen is Cozy! Send me a picture of or inspired by coziness – text or email – or [email protected] by 10pm December 15 and it will be in that day’s blog. If you want to remain anonymous, let me know – otherwise I will give you credit. You don’t have to play every day – any day or every day is fine! We will count down the days to Christmas together!
