Today was my favorite part of the December – our Christmas party with the guys (originally Benjin’s friends, now our friends) and their families. This year was extra special because TWO babies came!! It was the first time we got to meet Mac – who at seven months was completely charming and adorable. Adalynn has grown since we met her when she was a week old. She had on a beautiful party outfit and was just as cute she could be!
We had tacos and tinga and enchiladas. People brought marvelous additions – including cheesy potatoes (is there anything better?), macarons (homemade! raspberry! I had six!), three desserts, (all so good!) and a wonderful fruit salad. At the end of the evening, when brains are getting tired and all the dishes are dirty, I walked by the remains of the fruit salad and scooped up a handful. Yes, a handful. I walked over to the table and said, “Well, I am now eating fruit out of my hand. I have used about 6 plates of various sizes having one more helping of fruit, and now I am just eating it out of my hand.” Daniel and Amanda condoned my behavior and also ate fruit out of their hands. I think that is a sign of a successful party.
The game this year (there is always a new game) was for one person on a team to look at a tray of stuff and then describe it to their team. The team then had to exactly recreate the look of the tray. I was pretty picky when judging, and Alexander had to go back and make some MINOR fixes several times before leading his team to victory.
YAY PARTY!
Your new game is Amazing Race worthy for sure.
Tee-hee
Have you seen those salad servers that are shaped like big hands? You spontaneously came up with the same idea for a fruit salad server, but even better–it gives you a perfect serving size, and it’s multipurpose and easy to clean, to boot. Creativity wins again!
Multipurpose and easy to clean; nothing better than that!
Great to see you having an early Christmas party. Steve’s eldest and family were here for the weekend so we had an early Christmas dinner. 🙂🙂
Isn’t it nice to spread the holiday out?! Glad you were able to gather with some of Steve’s family for dinner and a bit of celebrating.
