We went to see The Lakeshore Player’s production of She Loves Me tonight. They are in White Bear Lake at a wonderful venue called the Hanifl Performing Arts Center. It is a new place for us and they put on a really good show. The cast was strong, the orchestra was good, and the sets were clever.
It seemed to be a quite new building and I was surprised to find only 4 stalls in the women’s bathroom. It seemed someone could have planned better than that. I made note in the program of the final song before intermission and told Keith he needed to get out quickly so I could beat the line. As the house lights came up, I said, “Run!” He nodded and then walked into the aisle and stood in my way. I literally gave him a push and said, “Hurry.” He sauntered down the three steps, then I passed him on the flat. OBVIOUSLY, he has never had to wait in line for a bathroom. When I came out, there were 28 ladies waiting (that’s part of the extended cut of 12 Days of Christmas). We went to the bubbler and sat by the fire, then went outside because I was too hot, went back to the bubbler, looked across the street at all the shops, and still had time to kill – instead of just waiting in line. Next time, I will just sit on the aisle.
