Shopping

We bought a new big umbrella, because our deck is straight south and there are no trees. Free home delivery!

We bought 270 pounds of sand to hold the umbrella stand down. It was damp and didn’t want to pour out the bag. We got some into the base, then had to shake the base to get it to move. It was not fun, nor very quick. I decided it needed to get dry, so we spread it out on a tarp. Tomorrow the sun will do its job, and it will become fabulous dry sand.

We bought a rug for the living room. Well, we ordered it from Wayfair. It comes later in the week. I am pretty proud of us for shopping and deciding all in less than half an hour.

We shopped for a new stove, because ours is electric and we would like induction. The only good choice was the new version of the stove we bought ten years ago when we remodeled our kitchen.

We bought some theater tickets for the next season. We are in process of getting season tickets from eleven different venues, so it takes some amount of planning and a bit of guessing to get those scheduled. We are awaiting release of three of the seasons while getting some early bird discounts on others. It is a bit complicated, but exciting to think of the fun that awaits.

Keith bought an electric lawn mower because Dave White said Nick Bower got one and it was good.

Maren and Rob and Keith and I had our first “decking” – having a conversation from one deck to the other.

Keith built our bed. OoOoOoOo!

I unpacked 10 boxes and put some random stuff away. Things are happening.

  1. Nick bought an electric mower. It was not good so he sold it and bought a different electric mower. It is good! I hope you bought one like the second mower!

    1. I bought a Ryobi 40V electric mower. It had very good reviews. I hope it’s a good one. I mowed the front yard, and it used very little battery and had plenty of power. Today I’ll do the backyard.

    2. I mowed the backyard this morning. It was still a little damp (probably could’ve waited a little to dry out more) and was pretty thick and tall, since we haven’t mowed since we moved here (four weeks now). So, I thought this was a pretty good test for a new mower. It did a great job, and probably a better job than our old gas Toro would’ve done. It automatically speeds up the blade when the grass gets thick, so the blade occasionally automatically changed speeds.
