I do not live a simple life, according to organizers and declutter-ers of the world. I have lots and lots of stuff and I can never figure out why people are always trying to get rid of their stuff (or why other people are trying to tell other people to get rid of their stuff and live a simple life). I like my stuff.
Even though we took 4 suitcases to Wales, I didn’t take a lot of stuff. Okay, I did. But I left A LOT of stuff here. I took a pack of 12 markers because one has to be able to create. I didn’t use them very much, but I was really glad they were there. I think that counts as okay. We had no games, no funtivities beyond TV and books (on my phone), few kitchen bits, no crafting stuff…we kinda had nothing. I would say we were living “a simple life”. There wasn’t much to leave lying around (but somehow I managed), so it was easy to tidy up when I wanted to. I didn’t really miss anything, but then, I knew I was going back to my stuff. We were only gone a month, and I amused myself by walking around town and reading and watching TV. I was never bored. (I don’t think I am ever bored. There is always napping if you can’t figure out what else to do.)
I will admit that now that I am home, I keep wondering if I should get rid of stuff. Living without stuff was fine. I look around and think, “How about that?” Then I think, “No.” Repeat. But it is going around in my head a lot. I am curious what will happen to these thoughts. Living without stuff was fine, for a while. Maybe it would be fine for longer.
I know you can cut a pineapple without a pineapple cutter, but why? Why would you?
I have never seen a pineapple cutter in action – until now. Those Dole people must have a lot of fancy machines or a lot of people with pineapple cutters. Rah for game night!
I wish we had been able to see pineapple processing when we went to Dole in Hawaii, but no. I am interested in how they do it.
A pineapple cutter can be used to make fun watermelon slices too – I’m just saying.
Now I need a watermelon
