We had Taco John’s breakfast at Alexander’s while visiting the kitties. He is out of town, and we are babysitting. They were both happy to see us. Keith played toys with them. They don’t play at the same time – they take turns. While Sophie was very busy getting the string, Colby was waiting. When it was Colby’s turn, Sophie retreated to her chair to watch. They are good fluffs.
Next, we went to the Cafesjian Art Trust to see their early American glass exhibition. The museum is free, but you have to sign up for a guided tour in order to visit. This exhibit ends on December 21 (and they are having an open house that day – no reservation needed) and I highly recommend you go see it if you can. It is a verrry small museum – it will take about 45 minutes to savor everything on display. We had a grand time. There is a “pergola” (their word, not mine. It was a ceiling of glass behind glass. It had been in Mr. Cafesjian’s dining room. I would like it anywhere in my house) that was absolutely gorgeous. I assume it is always there, because it doesn’t really look like something they would take away…
Next came sports! My two young friends who play on the same basketball team were at nearby East Ridge High School, so I went over and watched two games. They are so good! I was so impressed. The first game went into overtime, and I was very stressed. Our team did not win, but I thought it was a terrific game. They smashed the other team in the second game – playing with fire!
I got home in time to go to see the Open Window’s production of A Christmas Carol. As expected, they had a great set and great costumes and great performers. The lobby there is really interesting. There is a pool table and a piano and a wide variety of art and theater related items. Today they had the lobby and attached rooms decorated (DECORATED) with Christmas items. It was beautifully done. I could easily have spent an hour looking at everything. They were doing their annual fundraising, and I thought I should donate just because I like standing in their lobby. There are worse reasons.
We stopped at Kwik Trip for eggs on the way home. I like to age my eggs a bit before hard boiling them. The internet says it does not make them easier to peel, but I think it does. I am making deviled eggs next weekend, so now I am ready. Keith was verrrrry excited about the whole excursion. He is very excited anytime he is by QuickieMart food. Now that we know it is just off the highway on the way home, Kwik Trip might figure more in our lives.

It’s time for our holly, jolly participation in the POTD! The theme of day eight is Music! Send me a picture inspired by music – text or email – or [email protected] by 10pm December 8 and it will be in that day’s blog. If you want to remain anonymous, let me know – otherwise I will give you credit. You don’t have to play every day – any day or every day is fine! We will count down the days to Christmas together!
