Soundtrack

Last summer we were floating in the pool and I asked Keith what he wanted to do for his 60th birthday. He pondered it a bit and said he had no idea. I said he likes playing in a concert best and he should plan a Metro Brass concert. I tried to find a venue, without much luck. Eventually, the church where they rehearse agreed to let them play a concert.

It is hard to get people to come to concerts. I encouraged everyone I know to come. There was a WONDERFUL turn out. The concert started and I was looking around at all of our friends who had come – family from out of state, friends from an hour away, friends from work, friends from the boys – and a whole bunch of people I didn’t know. I had a lump in my throat that made it hard to swallow. When Keith announced the second tune and said he has arranged it for me because I love the song, then the lump turned into tears. So much emotion!

The concert was entertaining, there were cupcakes, and people came. Total win!

  1. Sounds like everybody got a gift for Keith’s birthday–the two of you with the concert and the dedicated arrangement, and all the people who came to hear the music. Wonderful!
