Stickers

My friend, Carla, is in charge of putting together auction baskets for her church’s fall festival. We went to Michael’s (crafty store) to look for bargains. We had a lovely time, looking through stuff that we could use and stuff we liked and stuff we thought was very strange. We zoomed around the store, uniting items from far corners to create wonderful sets of things. We chatted about all the things, as you do. We had pretty much filled our cart (they are smaller carts than grocery stores, so breathe easy) when I had to show Carla some stickers about…a country. I am not even sure which one at this point.

I love stickers. I don’t even stick them. I just love having them. I have a lot of stickers. I believe everyone would love having stickers, if given the opportunity. So, I found this little package of stickers themed to a country and I had to carry them down several aisles to find Carla just to show her how cute they were for a dollar. A dollar! I love things for a dollar.

She was duly impressed with the cuteness of the stickers and followed me back (we did lose our cart a couple times because of the following) to see the rest of the stickers. There were six bins of mixed up stickers, and we started looking through them, just for cuteness. Then we thought we could make a travel/world/map/something basket with stickers. We started looking in earnest for different countries. When we found another country it was like winning a prize. Sweden! Tahiti! Russia! Cambodia! We gently put (threw) them on the floor to keep straight which we had and which we didn’t. We ended up with 20 countries, Antarctica, Africa, the 7 wonders of the world, and one more I can’t remember. We were on Cloud 9 (not a place we found stickers for) – almost literally buzzing with excitement.

I know you think we are crazy. You have to be to build dozens of gift baskets every year. You never know what someone might like. I am buying ten tickets and putting them all on the stickers. I would say I can’t wait to win, but I already did. What a funtivity.
