Stillwater

I have been craving a burrito, so we made a date with Mike and Mary to meet at Nacho Mama’s in Stillwater for dinner. My burrito was good, but I ordered shredded beef, then after it arrived, I remembered I like the seasoned ground beef better. Keith said I can set my phone to remind me of that when I go there again. Of course I can. Theoretically. Just like theoretically I could just remember what I like to eat. Mike had chili rellenos with chorizo and shrimp. Keith is going to order that next time. He could put a reminder on his phone…

We went for a walk down the new pedestrian walkway to the pedestrian bridge. The pedestrian bridge used to be the only bridge across the St. Croix in Stillwater, but they built a big new beautiful bridge downstream a ways, so the old bridge is now for people walking. It is really nice and was filled with people strolling. It used to be a lift bridge. Mmmm. Does it still lift? Do the strolling people have to hang on tight? Mmmmm. I didn’t see any lifting. But then how do the boats get through? I was just looking at the guy doing tricks on a bike and being in the way. (Get off my lawn) I didn’t look for lifting. Or boats.

I will go again and figure out the lifting.

We walked back to where Mike and Mary were parked and watched this car come down the path, then turn onto the wrong side of the road and slowly drive away, staying on the left side of the road. I think he did it just for our amusement.

Also, speaking of the St. Croix river…it’s a big river when it joins the Mississippi. It’s a bigger river than the Mississippi at that point. Why isn’t it the St. Croix river after that? Why does the smaller river get the name? Who do you see about river naming? Is it a geologist? Why do I think it’s a geologist? They do rocks. A lot of rivers have rocks on the bottom. Rivers break up rocks. Or make them smooth. That is really cool, isn’t it? I like a smooth rock. Next time I go to the strolling, possibly lifting bridge I am going to take a rock and drop it in the river. Do you think that might not be allowed? Why wouldn’t it be? I mean, you should not drop it on a boat, but unless it is lifted, I don’t think a boat can go under that bridge and if it was lifted, I would be VERY busy being excited about the lifting and wouldn’t remember to drop my rock. I wonder who to ask if dropping a rock is allowed. I do not think a geologist because they would say never move a rock, rocks should just stay. Or I think that is what they would say. I know TWO geologists. I could ask them.
