Ted

We came late to the Ted Lasso fan club, because we didn’t have Apple TV. Once we started, we blasted through – trying to savor, but also NEXT, please! I love it. I love all the characters so much, I forget about Ted – and Ted is great. I was glad that season 3 hadn’t come out yet when we were watching, because it is nice to have to wait a bit – and then it was VERY nice when they said it was coming out March 15. We have been following Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) – because we love Roy so much and Brett is seriously funny in real life. If you haven’t seen him on Sesame Street or interviewing the Muppets, you should. Both are charming. He took a quiz to find out which muppet he is – and he said he took it VERY SERIOUSLY because finding out which Muppet you are is very serious – so Keith and I and my sister and her husband all took the quiz. We were very serious about it. I am the Swedish Chef. Keith is Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.

We were talking about genes and whatnot in science today – and introducing eugenics. The kids agreed that there was no way there was anything we could ALL agree on in order to “create the perfect specimen”. So, I guess that makes it okay that I’ve seen reviews of Ted that say it’s too sweet and therefore not watchable. I am trying to respect that ridiculous opinion. I am also trying to remember that people write stupid reviews so that I will click on them. I am ALSO trying not to click on them (and doing pretty well!).

Science was terrific today. We learned about making new dogs out of other dogs. Did you know there are 400 breeds of dogs and 130 years ago, 80% of them didn’t exist? Did you know that REALLY MOST of 7th graders CANNOT tell you what 80% of 400 is? Even if you give them clues. (Darn) Did you know if you tell a class you are afraid of scratchy dogs, every single kid will remember that the next day?

I always ask a trivia question to choose who gets to take the attendance slip to the office and the best one of today was “What is Alexander’s middle name?” I even told them it starts with an S. It was a very competitive class and there were at least 8 people on computers looking up names that start with S. It was very exciting, which is so great I can’t even express it.
