The Disney Dream Team

Keith chatted with a man on our last crew of a year and a half ago and learned that transatlantic features are relatively inexpensive. They just want to fill the boat that they need to move one side to the other side. I said when he retired that is something we would definitely do, and I remembered! We looked into Princess, our usual cruise line, and it seemed like a really good deal. You’re supposed to wait for the prices to drop – closer to the cruise, the cheaper it would get. Then, I thought the Disney cruise line. I thought a transatlantic way might be a cheaper way to get on a Disney cruise and I was right. Kristine heard about the opportunity and decided to join us with her sister Julie. Today is our day. We are on the Disney Dream.

The entire cruise is 14 days long. On day 8 we will stop in the Azores. We have a couple more days at sea, then three stops in Spain before ending in Barcelona. The plan is to get the internet for 24-hour periods straddling two days so we can send the picture of the day. If that doesn’t work, we’ll write and send when we can.

Here are Kristine and Julie being announced as they came into the ship.

We enjoyed lunch at the buffet (the Cabana?). Keith had yellow food.

Our room is nice. Inside cabins have magical port holes – video of the outside, plus Disney characters will come by. We have a couch and two bathrooms – one toilet and one with mini tub/shower.

We napped for half an hour and got up to go to the emergency drill. I noticed the people across from us had super cute lanyards. It only took me SECONDS to look at my lanyard to find out it was the same! Yay!

I’ve heard people really decorate their doors on Disney cruises. We have several right by us.

I thought I would have a bunch of pictures by now, but I don’t. Here you go
