The Little Mermaid

My friend, Christina, was Ursula in the community theater production of Little Mermaid at East Central High School in Finlayson.

SHE WAS SO GOOD!

The whole show was adorable – the costumes especially so! – but she stole the show with her terrific performance.

It was general admission, but she said she reserved seats for us (because she just did). We got there and our names were on our seats – dead center in the fourth row. How great was that? Obviously, we weren’t going to run into anyone we knew 90 minutes north of the Twin Cities, so as I looked at the program it surprised me to feel like I recognized a voice. Then I listened. I knew that voice. Christina’s oldest son was sitting right next to me. (The two little ones were in the show – adorable!!!!!) Of course he would be there – away from his freshman year at UW-River Falls. I loved catching up with him in the minutes before the show, and as he is a theater guy, I loved sitting next to him for the show. We whispered our mutual appreciation for the cast and sets and costumes during the scene changes.
