The Scottish play

Monday, October 28, 2024

There’s nothing like a bit of Shakespeare on a Monday night. The Open Door theater in Inver Grove Heights is close to finishing their run of MacBeth and we were front row center. Keith was appreciating the proximity to the actors – he thinks he could understand them (and therefore the play) better being so close. Everyone was good – MacBeth just got crazier and crazier (definitely had some crazy eyes going on there at the end) – but the weird sisters (one in particular) were absolutely terrific. The one made a creepy clicking sound that just seemed perfect – and sometimes meowed. There was lots of fog and the firepit/cauldron/well feature downstage smoked different colors perfectly.
