Tina!

I was up and doing stuff this morning, getting organized to cook lunch and all that, because I had an appointment to donate blood at noon. Then it occurred to me that I was just in Amazonia. They are always interested in where you’ve been when you donate blood. I had to call an eligibility specialist (my sister, Nancy, found the number) to find out if I would be deferred. I really didn’t want to go there to have them say, “Nope, thanks for coming.” I called and I am not allowed to donate blood for three months.

Tonight we went to see the musical Tina! about Tina Turner. We didn’t really like it. It was too loud – I could understand the words if I plugged my ears (which is not my favorite way to watch a show). It didn’t paint Tina in a very likable way (and Ike is straight up awful), so there was no one to root for or care about. We knew some of the music, so that was good. The show was strangely poorly attended. We came through security alone, and the lobby was quite empty. When we went in, there were entire rows that were empty. During intermission, the ladies behind us (the only people in their row) said three shows had been cancelled over the weekend because of illness – that’s how they ended up there tonight. They thought it would be full to bursting because of seating all of those displaced folks. Mmmm. Mystery.

We drove home in yucky, snowy weather – just like on Sunday after seeing Bruce. Thanks, Minnesota. Bruce’s concert in Columbus, OH, was cancelled tonight because of illness. Wow, am I glad we didn’t have that happen Sunday night!

    1. So much better. And Friday night, too. I even thought it during the concert last night – this is so much better than Tina. Poor Tina
