I woke up too hot to sleep at 3:30am. It was convenient, because our alarms were set for 3:45am. When we rescheduled flights, 6:20am was the only thing available. When we got that flight there were only preferred seats left, which would cost us $55 each to choose. I voted that down because we would be sleeping (hopefully) anyway. There were a bunch of available seats, so we thought they might put us together when they gave us seats.
They didn’t . We were both in the middle seats in row 18. We both also had an empty seat next to us. Keith said we could move next to each other if no one else sat there. I said I’d be happy to sit next to my empty seat.
At 5:10 our seats changed and we were next to each other in row 18. 🎉
At 5:35 our seats changed to together in row 12. We were upgraded to comfort+. 🎉🎉 We lead very charmed lives.
We found out yesterday that our dear friend Louise’s dad passed away last Wednesday, on Valentine’s Day. She knows he was ready to be reunited with her mom and that was the day. We landed at noon, made lunch, and headed to Cumberland, WI, to pay our respects.
Glad you’re both home safe, but so sorry that Louise’s Dad passed – nothing better than good friends at times like this.
I’m very glad our early flight allowed us to be there.
