There were posters and buses and billboards EVERYWHERE for the movie Twisters in Paris. Stacy said we would have to go see it when we got home (there was just no time to learn French and see it there), so we went tonight. I had checked to see if it was a continuation of the original Twister (1996), and it is a “stand alone sequel”. I wonder what that even means. Anyway, neither Keith nor I had seen the original, but it seemed fine to go.
I was out doing a tiny, tiny fraction of the weeding that is out there and I realized that I could just go right into the house, sit on the couch, and watch Twister. I watched the introduction, then got up and made popcorn. Talk about living large. Just watching a movie by myself in the middle of the day. What a win.
I jumped A LOT (so much that it started making me laugh) in the theater tonight. A favorite moment came when one character brought a pizza to another character, then they decided to go to a rodeo (because Oklahoma). I whispered, “Eat the pizza,” and Stacy started to laugh – she whispered, “I was thinking the same thing!”
I have much to learn about tornados. I am interested in learning more about them after seeing the two movies. I think that the people of Oklahoma probably should too, because they don’t seem to know much…which is odd, because there are multiple tornados PER DAY there (I know. I saw TWO movies).
Our friend Shawn is a storm chaser. He knows a lot about tornadoes. I know enough about tornadoes to not curse them!
Oops. I know enough to not chase them. Cursing them is totally safe.
